Chapter 4: Security features
IP address whitelisting
The IP Address Whitelist feature provided by Intuitive Password enhances the security of your account by allowing you to specify which IP addresses are authorized to access your Intuitive Password account. By whitelisting your trusted IP addresses, you can ensure that only devices originating from those IP addresses can log in without any additional security challenges. Unauthorized login attempts from IP addresses not on the whitelist will trigger a security challenge during the login process, adding an extra layer of protection to your account. Follow the steps below to configure and manage your IP address whitelist.
Add and delete IP addresses
- Click on the "Features" panel located on the left-hand side of the screen. In the Features panel, locate and select the "IP Address Whitelist" option from the dropdown list.
- Enter your security answer as part of the security verification process, this step ensures that only authorized users can manage your whitelist.
- Enter the IP address you want to whitelist and provide a name for it, which will help you identify the IP address in the future. Click the "Add IP Address" button to add this IP address to the whitelist. You can add as many IP addresses as you need to the whitelist. Repeat the steps mentioned here to add additional IP addresses.
- To remove an individual IP address from the whitelist, locate the IP address in the list, then click the "Minus" button next to the IP address entry to delete it. If you want to remove all IP addresses from the whitelist, click the "Clear All" button, this will delete all IP addresses associated with the whitelist.
By utilizing the IP Address Whitelist feature, you can control access to your Intuitive Password account and ensure that only authorized devices and IP addresses can log in without encountering additional security challenges. This feature provides an added layer of protection against unauthorized access attempts.
