Chapter 4: Security features
Cutomize security notifications
Intuitive Password offers a comprehensive security notifications feature that helps users stay informed about potential security threats to their accounts. By setting up a secondary email address, users can receive important security notifications if specific conditions are met during the login process. These conditions include:
- Security challenge failed during login.
- Email verification failed during login.
- Account logged in via the mobile app.
- Account logged in via a web browser.
- Unrecognized devices detected during login.
- Unrecognized IP address detected during login.
If a secondary email address is not set, Intuitive Password will use the account's primary email address for sending security notifications. To configure the security notification settings in Intuitive Password, follow the step-by-step instructions below.
Configuring the security notifications
- Click on the "Features" panel located on the left-hand side of the screen. In the Features panel, locate and select the "Security Notification" option from the dropdown list.
- Enter your security answer as part of the security verification process, this step ensures that only authorized users can change the security notification settings.
- Enter the secondary email address where you want to receive security notifications. If no secondary email address is provided, Intuitive Password will use the account's primary email address.
- You will find a list of checkboxes corresponding to the different security conditions mentioned earlier, select the checkboxes for the specific conditions for which you want to receive security notifications. By enabling these options, you will receive email alerts if any of the selected conditions occur during the login process.
- You may come across an option labeled "Allow account lockout", When this option is enabled, and a security notification is sent to your secondary email address (or primary email address if no secondary email is set), you have the ability to immediately lockout your account for 24 hours by following the instructions in the email. This lockout feature provides an additional layer of security to prevent unauthorized access to your account, but if you do not wish to have the account lockout option enabled, simply deselect the checkbox associated with it.
Note: It is important to configure your security notification settings accurately to ensure you receive important notifications regarding your account's security.
